After the warm greeting, we’ll collect the following pieces of information:
- An identification card or driver’s license
- Your completed paperwork
- Your dental insurance information
- Any expected copays
If you have any recent dental x-ray films or diagnoses, we recommend bringing them to share with the dentist.
What Happens During Your First Visit?
What happens during your first visit depends on the reason you’ve scheduled the appointment.
However, if you’re coming in as a new patient for a routine six-month checkup in Dumbo, NY, this is the typical routine:
- You meet the dentist and relax in the dental chair for a visual exam of the teeth, gums, and oral structures. The exam includes an oral cancer screening and x-rays.
- The dentist discusses your smile goals and concerns and shares any findings with you.
- You meet with the hygienist for a thorough professional teeth cleaning.

We are a family dentist, so we have a pediatric dentist on staff who treats children of all ages. For your convenience, we offer evening hours and Saturday slots (by appointment) and offer nitrous oxide in Dumbo.
