What to Expect at Your First Dental Visit
Leaf Dental wants to help you feel empowered by your smile and oral health. We begin each appointment by updating your medical history and medication list to ensure safety. Once we gather this information, we do the following:
- Discuss your oral health needs, goals, and any concerns you may have
- Perform a tooth-by-tooth examination
- Evaluate your gum health
- Take a complete series of x-rays
- Provide a standard prophylaxis dental clean and polish
- Review any findings that require our attention
- Offer in-office or at-home treatment recommendations
- Develop a personalized plan to help you achieve or maintain a healthy smile
A new patient visit typically takes 90 minutes to complete.

If you’re still nervous or need additional relaxation, our dentists offer nitrous oxide sedation or “happy gas.”
