Invisalign® is a powerful orthodontic system that relies on clear aligners to straighten teeth. It can fix various misalignment issues, including the overbite. However, your dentist will evaluate your teeth to be sure.

How Invisalign® in Dumbo, NY, Works

If your consultation determines you’re a suitable candidate for treatment, we take impressions of your teeth and send our results to the Invisalign lab. The lab fabricates your aligners and forwards them to our dental office.

After you pick up your aligners, you start wearing the first set in the series for about two weeks or according to the directions provided by the dentist. You move through the aligners on schedule and wear them consistently throughout treatment, usually twenty-two hours per day at minimum. It’s crucial to wear your aligners as often as possible to reach a predictable outcome at the end of treatment.

Invisalign treatment can last several months or longer than two years, with an average treatment time of 18 months. You’ll learn how long you’ll need it at your initial consultation with the dentist.

As the weeks pass, you’ll notice your teeth slowly moving into the desired positions—twisted teeth turning forward, gaps closing, and more!

Benefits of Invisalign

  • You’ll appreciate removable aligners for eating and cleaning your teeth.
  • There are no eating restrictions due to wires and brackets.
  • You’ll appreciate the discretion of clear aligners.

After Invisalign treatment, we provide a custom retainer. To prevent orthodontic relapse, it’s important to wear your retainer during sleep and according to your dentist’s schedule.

Straight teeth make brushing and flossing more productive, and an aligned bite typically means better long-term oral health.

When you love your smile, you’ll feel more confident, too!
